Routine Care

This page provides a summary of the routine care the Freeport Animal Hospital offers.  Please see our main services page for more details and appropriate timelines.  If you have questions about services we offer that are not listed here or on our surgery page, please do not hesitate to call (815) 232-4916 between 8:00 am and 5:30 pm Monday through Friday and 8:00 am and noon on Saturday.  Emergencies services are available.
FAH recommends annual wellness exams for your pet.  Pets older than 7 years may require more frequent exams.

 

We offer annual registration for Stephenson, Ogle, and Winnebago counties.


We provide the common core vaccinations :

- Distemper - Hepatitis - Leptospirosis “Lepto” – Parvovirus (DHLP)

- Bordetella (kennel cough)

- Lymes disease

- Panleukopenia - Rhinotracheitis – Calicivirus (PRC)

- Feline leukemia Rabies


We supply heartworm, flea, and tick preventions and treatments.  In addition, we supply Hills Prescription Science Diets

 

We provide ear or anal gland cleaning for pets requiring them.

 

FAH has an in-house blood analyzer for routine blood tests.  As your pet ages, we can provide liver and kidney function blood tests.

 

Our veterinarians try everything in their power to help save your pet.  However, when your pet suffers incurable pain or discomfort, please discuss with the vet if humane euthanasia (“putting to sleep”) is appropriate.  We also provide deceased animal services.
